Ingredients
2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled & diced small
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
1 package refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count, like Pillsbury Grands)
8 soft caramel candies (or caramel squares, unwrapped)
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
2 tbsp granulated sugar + ½ tsp cinnamon (for topping)
Optional drizzle:
¼ cup caramel sauce (warmed)
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
1. Cook Apple Filling
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook 4–5 minutes until apples soften and caramelize. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
2. Prepare Dough Bombs
Flatten each biscuit dough round slightly.
Place 1 spoonful of apple mixture in the center, along with 1 caramel candy.
Fold dough around filling and pinch edges tightly to seal (form into a ball).
3. Bake
Place bombs seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush tops with egg wash, then sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown.
4. Serve
Let cool slightly (they’ll be molten inside!).
Drizzle with warm caramel sauce and dust with powdered sugar.
