🌮 Irresistible Shrimp Tacos
Ingredients
For the Shrimp:
1 lb (450g) medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp cumin
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for spice)
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Juice of ½ lime
For the Slaw:
2 cups shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)
¼ cup mayo
1 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp honey
1 tbsp chopped cilantro
Salt & pepper to taste
For Serving:
8 small corn or flour tortillas
1 avocado, sliced
Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Lime wedges
Optional toppings: pico de gallo, cotija cheese, or spicy crema
🧑🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Slaw
In a bowl, whisk together mayo, lime juice, honey, cilantro, salt, and pepper.
Add shredded cabbage and toss to coat. Chill until ready to serve.
2. Season the Shrimp
In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, paprika, cumin, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice.
3. Cook the Shrimp
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
4. Warm the Tortillas
Lightly toast or warm tortillas on a skillet or directly over a gas flame for a bit of char.
5. Assemble Tacos
Spread slaw on each tortilla, add shrimp, top with avocado slices, cilantro, and any extra toppings you like.
Squeeze fresh lime over the top before serving.
💡 Tips
Add a drizzle of chipotle-lime crema for an extra kick (mix sour cream, lime juice, and chipotle sauce).
For crunch, sprinkle with crushed tortilla chips or pickled onions.
Grill the shrimp instead of pan-frying for smoky flavor.
